CBAM report on aluminum imports from third countries already submitted? There is a risk of fines

The CBAM reporting requirement came into force at the end of 2023. Anyone who does not submit reports by the end of Q2 2024 must expect fines. Not a problem for ALUMERO: We produce in the EU with recycled metagreen aluminum of European origin.

What is CBAM?

CBAM stands for Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and is an EU climate protection instrument. This provides that, in future, imports of products from third countries will incur charges for each ton of CO generated2 You must pay for the production of this product.

We are currently in the transition phase. This has already started on October 1, 2023 and provides quarterly reports on emissions released during production in other EU countries. If this reporting requirement is not met, there may be initial fines from this year on. These amount to 10 to 50€ per ton of unreported emissions.

The pricing phase will then start in 2026. From this point on, CBAM affected goods must be purchased with CBAM certificates upon importation.

Let ALUMERO be part of your solution!

Save yourself the red tape of collecting and writing perpetual reports and then buying expensive CBAM certificates.
